Natasha, an interior designer, and Shekhar, an engineer by profession are both based out of Roorkee, but their paths never crossed until January 2021 when their parents introduced them to each other. The couple fell in love in the first meeting itself talking to each other for hours in the end. The rest, as they say, was the beginning of a beautiful story.

The Wedding Venue

Natasha, having spent her entire childhood in Rishikesh wanted to incorporate the mesmerizing beauty of the town in her wedding. She hence decided to tie the knot there. Namami Ganges played a huge role here by helping Natasha plan a spectacular wedding ceremony on the banks of river Ganga while ensuring that she could have her two little pups, Alex and Chiko, by her side for the wedding ceremony.

The Wedding Ceremonies

While Natasha and Shekhar had their roka in February 2021, Shekhar’s mother always wanted her son to get married on the auspicious day of Tulsi Vivah. Hence the couple zeroed in on 15th November for the wedding. Apart from the roka that took place in Roorkee, Natasha and Shekhar hosted their haldi, mehendi, bhaat, engagement, sangeet, and wedding at Namami Ganges in Rishikesh.

Recalling the still fresh memories of her engagement function that was followed by sangeet, Natasha says, “We are so thankful to the people of Great Gatherings by Anmol, our wedding planner, and also Namami Ganges to help us have the dreamiest decor ever for our sangeet. These guys built for us a floating glass stage in the middle of the swimming pool for our performance which was later used to have us seated to watch other dance performances of the sangeet.”

Attention to Details

Natasha was extremely careful about the little details of her wedding. As she was always fascinated with the idea of bridesmaids and groomsmen, she somehow wanted to incorporate it in her wedding (we spot a trend here.) To make her dream come true, she sought the help of all her sisters and brothers, coaxing them to wear exact matching outfits while keeping the color scheme of her wedding décor in mind.

Apart from that, she was keen on adding a religious touch to her wedding for which her wedding planners requested young priests from a nearby ashram to grace the ceremony. Natasha’s bridal entry thus was a spectacular affair that had her walking under a chadar held by her color-coordinated cousins while the young priests stood by her side holding religious placards and chanting holy mantras.

The Wedding Wardrobe

Natasha’s bridal and engagement outfits were designed by Frontier Raas in Delhi while Shekhar’s groom outfit too was from the same brand. Shekhar, however, for his engagement wore a tux from the luxury label, Giorgio Armani. Natasha’s bridal makeup was done by the makeup artist Shruti Sharma whereas her beautiful mehendi design was done by the acclaimed mehendi artist Sona Mistry. The couple also ensured that their poochies Alex and Chiko too were dressed in coordinated outfits as per the theme of the function.

The Takeaway

Natasha insists on letting all brides know that it’s extremely important to try everything they can at their wedding. There’s no point, as she says, in regretting later about all that could have been done. At the same time, the couple also feels that they were lucky to have all their elders attend their wedding, even if they had to use palanquins to bring them to the location because no wedding can be complete without rituals, blessings of the Almighty and the elders of the family.
