5 Ideas To Steal From This Modern Catholic Wedding

Category - General, 5 Mins Read Time

In the world of weddings with guestlists the size of a village, and all things larger than life, it’s a genuine pleasure to see more and more couples opt for intimate ceremonies, and weddings that represent themselves. No gimmicky trends – it’s all about individuality for some. And we tend to see this most often with weddings of those young turks, millenials, creative entrepreneurs and tastemakers with feet on the ground and eyes to the sky.

One such #BossWedding was that of Anuj Rakyan ( Founder of RAW Pressery) and Atiya Mulla (Wedding Director of Magnanimous Group) which took place in Goa and Mumbai. An intimate catholic ceremony took place at the The Holy Cathedral, Woodhouse Church in Mumbai, which was followed by a reception at the Four Seasons and a party in Goa.

Here are my thoughts on all the stuff I LOVED and ideas I’d steal!

1. Umm That DRESS!

Atiya wore the dress made of dreams by Elie Saab. Easily the prettiest gown I’ve seen in a while! Anuj was dressed in Troya Costa

2. Going For A Wedding Venue That Resonates With You

The Holy Cathedral, Woodhouse Church is easily one of  Mumbai’s most beautiful churches. It’s got that old world charm that makes you feel like you’re in a different time. And as one would expect, with the head honcho of Magnanimous Group walking down the aisle, the entire affair was elegant and classy

3. Having A ‘New Age’ Reception Party

Well receptions are a formal affair and while A+A checked the box by hosting one in Mumbai, they also took their 150 closest to Goa for a rager reception / wedding celebration. It was all chilling, drinking, reveling in the beauty of life and love. Just the kind of way you want to kick start the newest adventure of your life. Atiya has visited the Fort Tiracol Heritage Hotel when she was 17 and it was her dream to come here and celebrate – how cute!

4. Getting Really Cool Entertainment + Live Music!

Sure Bollywood DJs are always a hoot but it might not be everyone’s vibe and Anuj and Atiya wanted something that was truly ‘them’ They kept their entertainment eclectic – from DJs to a pop / rock band called The Other People and a percussionist group called Maultek.

5. Going RAW!

As a vegan couple, and with Anuj being the brain behind RAW Pressery Juices (India’s favourite cold pressed juices brand), they made sure everyone got a taste of the lifestyle they swear by. From bellinis made with their Valencia orange juices and champagne to various others, they served alcohol at their wedding with India’s favourite and purest juices.
